In addition to the subject, the preheader is usually the next thing your recipient sees and reads when you send your newsletter. The preheader is located below the sender and subject of an email. If the preheader is written in an interesting and exciting way, it increases the likelihood that your mailing will be opened and read.
In our newsletter editor, you can easily specify the preheader for your mailing in the campaign settings.
-
Log in to your account and create a new mailing or open an existing one.
-
The first step in the editor allows you to change the campaign settings.
Under Preheader, you can insert a short text or use our content generator to create a text proposal. You can find more information about the generator in the article Using the AI content generator in CleverReach - General operation. - Customise your mailing in the next steps in the editor and save it.
-
After sending your campaign, your preheader would look like this in any email programme (e.g. Apple Mail):
Tips for a good preheader
- The most important and interesting content should be mentioned in the preheader.
- The preheader should be an extension of the subject line and not replace or repeat it. In certain email clients (e.g. Google Mail) and on smartphones, the subject line and the preheader are often displayed together.
- Your preheader should be a maximum of 100 characters long.
- You can link to the online version of the e-mailing in the preheader, for example.
- Personalization and call-to-actions in the preheader have proven to be particularly efficient
