Activate tracking with Google Analytics

Google Analytics is one of the most widespread and most used analysis tools. With Google Analytics, you have an additional reporting option and can obtain and analyze relevant information about the user behavior of your customers. You can collect the following information, for example:

  1. Number of visits to your website

  2. Origin of your visitors

  3. Length of stay on your site

  4. Search terms, target pages, entry pages

  5. Conversions

  6. Sales

Activate tracking of an email with Google Analytics

Note: You must have Google Analytics installed on your website in order to use this function.

  1. In the creation process of your e-mail, click on Advanced in the campaign settings on the right-hand side.

  2. Scroll down to the Tracking section and activate the slider for Measure clicks.
    Also check the box for Google Analytics URL Tracking. The UTM parameters are automatically appended to the links.

The evaluation cannot currently be carried out in our own report area, but in Google Analytics if you search for the mailing ID or the campaign name.

Parameters for all links
By activating this, corresponding parameters for Google Analytics are attached to all links in your newsletter.

You can use the parameter if you do not use tracking via the settings in the mailing, but generate the links here, for example:

You can insert these into the mailing like a normal link. This gives you a free choice for the use of the UTM parameters. The links are clearly marked for each individual newsletter so that you can precisely assign the origin of your visitors to the website.

Your campaign is distributed via e-mail.

What are the reasons why the figures are not shown in the report?

    • In the email are links on whose landing pages the Google Analytics script was not inserted. 
    • The token must be recreated. You can simply re-establish the connection under My account / Settings / Integrations.
