With the double opt-in process the recipient must expressively confirm his desire to receive promotional emails and other regular communication via email. This is a one-time confirmation which will place a contact into a recipient group (e.g. via a newsletter registration form on the website).
After being entered into a recipient group there is a second step in which the contact can click to confirm this is actually correct. For this purpose the recipient will be sent an email that asks him to confirm by clicking on a specific link. Only after a recipient clicks on this link he will be activated in the respective recipient group. This ensures that the owner of the email address in question in fact does want to receive emails.
Since contacts are asked to confirm twice that they would like to receive emails the process is called double opt-in. Our forms exclusively work with this process.
